Cricket is the most popular sport in Pakistan. In 1947 after its separation from India Pakistan emerged as a new country on the world map since cricket is the most popular sport in Indian, Pakistan inherited this heritage by default.
Pakistan's cricket governing body Board of Control for Cricket in Pakistan (PCB) was established on 1 May 1949 and in 1952 the country officially became a member of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
