Akshay Hari Om Bhatia, originally named Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia, and professionally known as Akshay Kumar, is an Indian actor born in Old Delhi, India. He is the son of Hari Om Bhatia and Aruna Bhatia, hailing from a Punjabi Hindu family. Akshay grew up in Chandni Chowk, Delhi, before relocating to Bombay (Mumbai) when his father left the army to work as an accountant with UNICEF.
