According to Wikipedia data, since the adoption of its 2013 Constitution, Zimbabwe has had 16 official languages: Chewa, Chibarwe, English, Kalanga, Koisan, Nambya, Ndau, Ndebele, Shangani, Shona, Sign Language, Sotho, Tonga, Tswana, Venda, and Xhosa.
Most Spoken Languages in Zimbabwe by Percentage
Zimbabwe's main language is Shona, spoken by over 70% of the population. Approximately 20% of the population speaks Ndebele, while English is used in government and business and is the primary medium of instruction in schools. However, before independence in 1980, English had been the official language of Zimbabwe's predecessors since the onset of white rule in the region.
